CHIA FROM AZTEC FOOD TO SUPERFOOD
Chia is on everyone's lips, but in the trade only imported goods are offered...Chia is on everyone's lips, but in the trade only imported goods are offered. In Austria, a variety was developed that can be sown in direct seeding and thrives perfectly in our climate. The variety was developed by Mr. Johann Krachbüchler sen., the business owner of Eusebio GmbH, who is now looking for committed farmers for the cultivation of Chia and other special crops.
Chia (Salvia hispanica) comes from the subtropical and tropical areas of Central America. The grains have a size of 2 mm and are mainly used in baked goods, muesli mixtures, yogurt and smoothies. They are valued for their omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial to health, and high fiber content.
Chia is excellent for organic cultivation, as there is no known incidence of disease or pests to date. The plants are sensitive to frost, but cope well with drought.
Since Johann Krachbüchler sen. is a farmer himself, he has accumulated experience over the past 24 years on the optimal cultivation of specialty crops, which is provided to the contract partners.
Eusebio GmbH is a pioneer company specialized in processing, refining and distribution of chia, buckwheat, lentils, millet, flax as well as amaranth, exclusively of organic certified goods. In cooperation with the contract farmers, gluten-free organic products of the highest quality standard are created for major customers such as mills, large bakeries, packaging companies and retail chains.
